HOW REPLACEMENT WORKS

What does your home need?

A little knowledge.
Saves you thousands.

Replacing your HVAC? Find a system that fits your home, understand rebates and running costs, and compare complete installation quotes.

  1. A house model, an open homeowner guide, and a calculator on a sunlit table.

    CHOOSE YOUR NEXT SYSTEM

    Find the right replacement.

Explore heat pumps, ACs, and heating systems suited to your climate and home. Learn about sizing and rebates, then use our calculators to compare upfront costs and potential energy savings.

  2. A homeowner and installation contractor reviewing a house floor plan and a new indoor heat-pump unit.

    PLAN THE INSTALLATION

    Define your replacement project.

Share your existing system, home details, and replacement timeline. Local contractors can assess sizing, ductwork, and electrical needs so their installation proposals cover the work your home requires.

  3. Two new heat-pump system models with indoor units, a house model, and installation proposal folders.

    COMPARE COMPLETE QUOTES

    Choose your system & installer.

For select full replacements, local companies quote on the same project. Compare new equipment, efficiency, installation scope, warranties, and the total installed price before choosing your contractor.

You’re in the right place.

What does Temperaly do?

We help homeowners understand heating and cooling options, explore rebates and efficiency, and prepare to compare costs. When you’re ready, you can request an introduction to local contractors. The contractor you choose handles the assessment, quote, and work.

Is it free to use? How does Temperaly get paid?

Our guides, calculators, and contractor requests are free for homeowners. Participating contractors pay Temperaly for introductions to homeowners looking for HVAC help. Any assessment, installation, or service charges come from the contractor and should be confirmed before you agree to work.

What if I’m still deciding whether to repair or replace?

Start with our guides and calculators to explore system options, efficiency, and possible long-term costs. You don’t need to request a contractor to use them. If you want help, choose “I’m not sure” on the request form and explain what’s happening at home.

Can you tell me which rebates or system I qualify for?

Our guides help you explore programs and equipment options; they don’t confirm eligibility or prescribe a system. Rebates depend on the program, location, household, and installation. Confirm current requirements with the program before committing, and have a contractor assess your home’s sizing and equipment needs. Calculator results are estimates, not guaranteed savings.

How do repair requests work?

Tell us what’s wrong, share photos of your equipment, and let us know where you are and when you need help. We check local provider availability, then invite available providers to bid on price and response time. Compare what each bid includes and the earliest visit offered, then choose your provider. The number of bids depends on local availability.

Can a provider give a final repair price from photos?

Photos and a description help providers understand the problem, but some repairs need an on-site diagnosis. Check whether a bid covers a diagnostic visit, the repair, or both, and whether parts and labor are included. Confirm the final scope, price, and arrival time directly with the provider before authorizing work.

Will I get competing quotes for my replacement?

For select projects where a homeowner is ready for a full replacement, we invite multiple local companies to quote on the same project. This depends on the project and participating contractors in your area. Multiple quotes aren’t guaranteed for every request, and contractors may need to assess the home before pricing the work.

Does the lowest quote automatically win?

You decide who to hire. Compare the equipment, included installation work, exclusions, warranty, timing, and total price, along with the contractor’s qualifications and references. A lower price alone doesn’t tell you whether two proposals cover the same work.

What happens when I submit a request?

Your project, location, and contact details help us connect you with participating contractors, who may contact you about the work as described in the form’s consent notice. We accept requests across all 50 states and DC, but contractor availability varies. Submitting doesn’t book an appointment or commit you to hiring anyone; you confirm scope, scheduling, and pricing directly with the contractor.
